Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

KnobMaster is operated by Lancelot Martin, entrepreneur individuel, SIRET 102 483 153 00015, France. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@knobmastr.com.

2. Data we process

• Account data: email address, display name, internal user ID, authentication records, and optional Google or Apple sign-in ID.
• User content: gear, preferences, prompts, saved tones, photos you choose to scan for gear identification, and audio you choose to upload for Precision Mode.
• Subscription data: product, entitlement, purchase, renewal, and cancellation status. KnobMaster does not receive your full card details.
• Operational data: device and app information, request logs, security events, and diagnostics needed to operate and protect the service.
• Optional analytics: if you enable usage analytics in the mobile app, we process an internal user ID, device identifier, screens visited, and feature interactions. Touch autocapture, email addresses, and route parameters are not included. Analytics is off by default and can be disabled at any time in Profile.

3. Why we process it

• To create your account, generate and save tones, provide subscriptions, and support you under our contract with you.
• To secure the service, prevent abuse, and maintain reliable operations based on our legitimate interests.
• To send verification, security, purchase, and service messages required to operate your account.
• To meet legal, tax, accounting, and consumer-protection obligations.
• To improve the product using optional analytics only with your consent.

We do not sell personal data and do not use uploaded audio to train AI models.

4. Service providers

Data is shared only as needed with providers that help deliver KnobMaster:

• Apple and Google for sign-in and mobile store purchases.
• Stripe for web billing and RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management.
• Render and storage providers for application hosting and temporary file processing.
• OpenAI and Google services for AI-assisted tone generation and search.
• PostHog for optional product analytics, only after you opt in.
• Transactional email and notification providers for account-related messages.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on adequacy decisions or approved contractual safeguards. We may also disclose data when legally required or necessary to protect users and the service.

5. Retention

• Uploaded audio is deleted within 24 hours after processing completes.
• Photos submitted for gear identification are processed transiently and are not saved.
• Saved tones, gear, and account data remain until you delete them or your account.
• Operational logs and optional analytics are retained only as long as needed for security, reliability, and product improvement under the applicable provider settings.
• Records required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, or legal compliance may be retained for the applicable statutory period.

Account deletion removes the account and associated user content from the active service. Residual copies may remain briefly in restricted backups until they rotate.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on the situation, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

You can delete your account in the mobile app under Profile → Delete Account, or follow the instructions on our account deletion page. Subscription cancellation is separate and must be completed with the store or billing provider where you subscribed.

Contact privacy@knobmastr.com to exercise a right. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

7. Security and children

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls, and token-based authentication. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

KnobMaster is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as KnobMaster or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.
