KnobMaster ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web service. By using KnobMaster, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your email address and display name, provided when you register or sign in via Google or Apple.
- Audio files: files you voluntarily upload for AI-assisted tone analysis. These are processed and deleted within 24 hours.
- Gear and preference data: amplifier models, effects units, and sound preferences you enter to personalise recommendations.
- Saved tones: AI-generated tone settings you choose to save to your library.
- Subscription information: purchase status managed through RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
- Usage data: basic analytics such as feature interactions, crash reports, and session information to improve the service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and improve the KnobMaster service.
- To authenticate your identity and manage your account.
- To process audio files and return AI-generated tone recommendations.
- To manage and verify your subscription entitlements.
- To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, account notices).
- To detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your audio files to train AI models.
4. Data Sharing
We share your data only with the following categories of trusted service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate KnobMaster:
- Authentication: Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In for account creation and login.
- AI processing: OpenAI and Google Gemini APIs to analyse audio and generate tone recommendations.
- Subscription billing: RevenueCat to manage in-app purchase verification.
- Cloud infrastructure: Render and cloud storage providers for hosting and file processing.
- Email: a transactional email provider for account and verification emails.
We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
5. Data Retention
- Audio files: deleted within 24 hours of processing completion.
- Account data: retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
- Saved tones and gear data: retained until you delete them or close your account.
6. Children's Privacy
KnobMaster is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and token-based authentication. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of KnobMaster after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
